I believe the program has been beneficial in helping to secure new technology to clean the air and do it in a cost effective way. The South Coast Air Basin has made progress but still experiences the worst air quality in the United States, exceeding health standards on 1 of every 4 days and has the largest proportion of the U.S. population exposed to unhealthful air. This program, which has generated over $10 million annually, is a step in the right direction when it comes to reducing emissions and cleaning up the air in order to meet the EPA’s health standards for clean in air in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
